The Model Prime, also known as the Model 51, is a beautiful comic book Iron Man suit that did not appear on the silver screen.

Individual segments of the helmet shell were pinned with 1mm brass pins then superglued together with gorilla glue gel. Afterwards, all joint seams and visible layer lines on the helmet's surface were filled with spot putty and sanded down.

Magnetic attachments proved too weak and inaccurate, so I utilized 1mm brass pins on the edges of the faceplate for some reliable Gunpla-inspired alignment between the faceplate and the helmet's dome. As I like to put it: "functional aesthetic--all inner-details are legit, not just for show"

The electrical contacts for triggering the eye-lighting are situated to the sides of the eyepieces, near the temples. When fastening the faceplate onto the dome, the faceplate's contacts meet with the dome's contacts, closing the circuit and causing the eyepieces to light up.

The red dome of the helmet has a baselayer of ordinary gray primer, but the faceplate has a baselayer of black primer to bring out the depth of the gold toplayer paint.
